Andrea De Leon, LMFT

Hi there! I’m Andrea, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a master’s degree from the University of San Francisco. For the past nine years, I have worked with diverse communities around the Bay Area and throughout California, helping clients navigate their life stressors and the emotional complexities of being human in an increasingly lonely and uncertain world.

I am a multicultural + multilingual therapist and specialize in working with Asian and Latinx adult children of immigrants. As a first-generation Southeast Asian immigrant raised in the Bay Area, I work with multiple lenses and have a deep understanding of immigrant family cultural dynamics. I help clients explore how growing up with multiple and seemingly contrasting cultures shapes how we view ourselves and the world around us. Learning how our vast array of different values, traditions, ideologies, and identities impact our self-esteem, attachment styles, communication patterns, and worldviews is key to integrating the various parts of ourselves. I am fluent in both Tagalog and Spanish and value providing culturally responsive care that honors intergenerational experiences, resilience, and nuance.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, integrative, attachment-based, strengths-focused, and sex-positive. I draw from Humanistic and Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-based and Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. I often use parts-based approaches to help clients develop a more compassionate and integrated relationship between their present adult selves, their inner child and inner teenager, all while helping clients become more attuned to and comfortable in their own bodies. Ultimately, I tailor my approach to each client’s needs, goals, and pace, meeting you where you are while supporting meaningful growth and change.

I work primarily with adults navigating the complexities of family tensions and discord, dating and romantic relationships, friendship and community building, intimacy and communication challenges, including ENM and interracial dynamics. I also support clients processing grief and loss, trauma, life transitions (in their identities, careers, relationships, any significant life changes) and I have a heavy focus on social justice. Additionally, I help clients examine their relationship with technology, social media, and AI, supporting them in developing a healthier, more intentional, and sustainable relationship with these tools and examining their impact on their identity and human connections. Overall, I strive to create a space that feels warm, grounded, and authentic. I do so by showing up with curiosity, compassion, playfulness, and honesty, while simultaneously pushing and challenging folks toward growth with warmth and kindness.

If you have been feeling lost in a painful pattern, dynamic, or situation that you want to mend—or perhaps feeling stuck in an environment that you’ve outgrown and need help walking away from–I am here to offer you support throughout this process and would be honored to join you on this journey of self exploration and healing,

Yes!

Kaiser Permanente

Before scheduling psychotherapy or assessment/evaluation services with us, all clients need a verified external referral from Kaiser after their screening. Please contact your Kaiser clinic for processing. If you do not have the referral, Kaiser will not reimburse your fees. If you have an older referral, we advise you to call the clinic to confirm it is still valid.

Other Insurance/Self Pay

We are out-of-network providers for all other insurance companies. If you use our services, you will be expected to pay the full fee yourself. We offer you Superbill receipts for the service you receive from us, and you can submit them to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Most insurance companies may cover part of the fee (50-80% typically) for out-of-network providers like us.
