Hello, I'm Michelle. Reaching out for support isn't always easy, and I'm glad you're here.

Therapy offers a space to slow down, approach yourself with curiosity, and gain insight into the experiences and patterns that have shaped who you are. My hope is that therapy not only brings relief during difficult times but also helps you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, so you can make choices that feel more intentional and aligned with your values.

I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York. I received my graduate training in Mental Health Counseling at Columbia University and provide therapy in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. Many have spent much of their lives adapting to family or cultural expectations, leaving them feeling disconnected from themselves or caught in patterns they no longer want to repeat. Some of my clients come from diverse cultural backgrounds, including immigrants, international students, and those navigating life across cultures. As someone who has experienced cultural adaptation myself, I understand the unique challenges of building a life between cultures.

My approach to therapy is grounded in psychodynamic principles, helping you understand how early relationships and past experiences have shaped the patterns that continue to influence your life today. I also integrate mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to cultivate greater awareness and flexibility in responding to life's challenges. I believe that every symptom exists within a broader context because our inner world, body, relationships, culture, and sense of meaning are deeply interconnected. By approaching symptoms with curiosity rather than judgment, we can begin to understand what lies beneath them.

Q & A : Do you Accept insurance?

Yes!

Kaiser Permanente

Before scheduling psychotherapy or assessment/evaluation services with us, all clients need a verified external referral from Kaiser after their screening. Please contact your Kaiser clinic for processing. If you do not have the referral, Kaiser will not reimburse your fees. If you have an older referral, we advise you to call the clinic to confirm it is still valid.

Other Insurance/Self Pay

We are out-of-network providers for all other insurance companies. If you use our services, you will be expected to pay the full fee yourself. We offer you Superbill receipts for the service you receive from us, and you can submit them to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Most insurance companies may cover part of the fee (50-80% typically) for out-of-network providers like us.
